In the initial fit with a closed vented dome and medium-power receiver, the Phonak Sphere Infinio demonstrated strong out-of-box performance. Speech in quiet (3.70) and speech in noise (2.50) both exceeded category averages, while music streaming (4.30) was notably impressive. Feedback handling was solid at 4.90. The primary weakness was own-voice comfort at 2.30, reflecting some occlusion with the closed coupling. The overall initial fit score of 3.35 indicates this device performs well above average even before professional optimization, making it accessible for users seeking quality sound with minimal adjustment.
Professional tuning elevated the Sphere Infinio's performance substantially, with the fit score improving by 0.80 points to 4.14. Speech in quiet jumped to 4.80 and speech in noise reached an excellent 4.60—among the highest we've measured. The same closed vented dome coupling was retained, as it already provided appropriate occlusion for target matching. Notably, feedback handling decreased to 3.60 in this configuration, indicating the system works harder to maintain stability at higher gain levels. Music streaming remained strong at 4.00, while own-voice comfort held steady at 2.30.
