The Phonak Audéo Lumity is a premium prescription behind-the-ear hearing aid that achieved an A grade in HearAdvisor's lab testing, ranking in the top 29% of all prescription hearing aids tested. At $4,398, it sits in the highest price tier alongside competitors like the Oticon Intent and Signia IX series.
In our testing, the Lumity demonstrated notable strengths in speech intelligibility. Speech in quiet measured 1.39 points above the category average, while speech in noise came in 0.78 points above average—solid results that reflect Phonak's focus on conversational clarity. Music streaming quality also impressed at 0.87 points above average, making this a capable choice for users who frequently stream audio from their phones.
The most significant weakness we measured was own-voice comfort, which scored 1.76 points below the category average. This occlusion-related metric suggests that users may notice their own voice sounding hollow or boomy, particularly in the initial fit configuration. Feedback handling, however, was excellent, achieving a perfect 5.0/5 score in both fit conditions.
The Audéo Lumity is best suited for users who prioritize speech clarity and streaming quality and have access to professional fitting services. While newer models like the Phonak Sphere Infinio (4.64) and Oticon Intent (4.70) now outperform it in our rankings, the Lumity remains a solid performer that has earned HearAdvisor's Expert's Choice Award in both 2023 and 2024. Budget-conscious buyers may want to consider alternatives like the Audicus Omni 2, which achieved a comparable score at less than half the price.
