HearAdvisor is now accepting clients.
Our independent hearing aid evaluation lab will identify weak points in your hearing devices and help you understand—privately—how your hearing aids stack up to the latest competition. We'll also provide a list of action items to improve your performance scores, and we'll remeasure your devices after you've addressed any issues to help make your product more effective, and more competitive.

HearAdvisor is an independent test lab with a mission to help hearing aid consumers make informed buying decisions.
Hearing loss is complex and developing quality products comes with many challenges. Let us help by evaluating your device across two fitting models and five key components of sound quality. Our test protocol was meticulously designed to reflect the preferences of hearing aid consumers and real-world device performance. Let us evaluate and compare your device against our growing database of over 60 hearing aids, earbuds, and personal sound amplification products.
Our evaluations include both standard and perceptual tests
- Real Ear Occluded Insertion Gain (REOIG)
- Real Ear Insertion Gain (REIG)
- Audio Latency
- Hearing Aid Speech Perception Index Version 2 (HASPI)
- Hearing Aid Audio Quality Index (HAAQI)
- Extended Short-Time Objective Intelligibility (ESTOI)
We use a state-of-the-art lab with industry-standard equipment
- GRAS Type 45BA KEMAR with anthropomorphic pinna and RA0401 high-frequency ear simulators
- Antelope Orion AD/DA converters and headphone amplifier
- Brüel & Kjær Type 2804 microphone power supply
- Audioscan Axiom B1604 test-box
- Yamaha loudspeakers
- Matlab Suite and other audio nonlinear workstations
Our sound quality metrics are based on real-world listening situations
- Real-world scenes from the Ambisonics Recordings of Typical Environments database (e.g., cafe, office, dinner party)
- Custom recorded multi-talker scenes including both male and female voices
- Sound scenes recorded at realistic speech levels and signal-to-noise ratios
Frequently asked questions
Please review these quick answers before engaging our team for a private evaluation.
We provide a comprehensive report, including diagrams, detailing results across all evaluations listed above. The report includes specific recommendations from HearAdvisor to improve results for further testing.
Evaluations and the associated test report are completed within 30 days. Occasionally, further testing is required to better understand device performance which can extend the deadline.
We generally require a single pair of devices, accessories such as ear tips, mobile apps, and programming software depending on the intended delivery model. The consumer experience will be discussed prior to our evaluation to assure accurate test results.
Test results remain private for 90 days for any publicly available product. Results from in-development products remain private until launch. If adjustments are made following our evaluation, we will retest the device before sharing results so the published data reflects the updated performance.
