The notes below document our observations from both Initial and Tuned fit conditions along with the specific test configuration used. These details provide context for interpreting the measurement results presented throughout this review.
In our initial fit testing with an open dome, the Lucid Engage achieved a normalized Initial Score of 4.1/5. Speech in quiet measured 3.8/5, while speech in noise scored 2.0/5. Own-voice comfort was excellent at 4.5/5, benefiting users who are sensitive to the sound of their own voice. Music streaming came in at 2.2/5 and feedback handling at 2.6/5. This out-of-box configuration delivers solid speech clarity with strong own-voice comfort.
After professional tuning with a closed dome, the normalized Tuned Score improved to 4.3/5, a gain of 0.2 points. Speech in quiet rose to 4.3/5 and speech in noise improved to 2.4/5. Own-voice comfort decreased to 3.6/5, which remains solid. Music streaming increased slightly to 2.4/5. Feedback handling remained at 2.6/5. The tuned configuration yields better speech audibility with a modest trade-off in own-voice comfort.
