In initial fit testing with closed dome coupling, the AirPods Pro 3 achieved a normalized Initial Score of 3.2/5. Speech performance was limited, with speech in quiet at 1.0/5 and speech in noise at 1.1/5. Feedback handling was excellent at 5.0/5, and music streaming performed strongly at 4.3/5. Own-voice comfort scored 1.9/5. The initial configuration delivers solid audio fidelity for streaming but provides minimal speech benefit out of the box.
After tuning—still with closed dome coupling—the normalized Tuned Score improved to 3.8/5, a 0.6-point gain over initial fit. Speech in quiet rose to 2.3/5 and speech in noise to 1.8/5, showing meaningful improvement in audibility. Feedback handling remained excellent at 5.0/5, while own-voice comfort stayed at 1.9/5 and music streaming held steady at 4.3/5. Tuning notably improved speech clarity while maintaining the strong streaming and feedback performance.
