The lab notes below document observations from both Initial and Tuned fit conditions during our evaluation of the Olive Union Air. You will also find the specific test configuration used to generate these measurements.
In initial fit testing with foam tips and the manufacturer's proprietary default settings, the Olive Union Air achieved a normalized score of 3.9/5. Speech in quiet performed well at 3.5/5, while feedback handling was excellent at 5.0/5. Music streaming showed solid results at 3.6/5. However, speech in noise was limited at 1.0/5, and own-voice comfort measured 2.2/5. The foam tip coupling provided good seal characteristics for this integrated-receiver design.
Tuned fit testing maintained foam tip coupling with the proprietary manufacturer default formula, resulting in a normalized score of 3.9/5—essentially unchanged from initial fit. Speech in quiet measured 3.3/5, with speech in noise remaining at 1.0/5. Feedback handling stayed excellent at 5.0/5, and music streaming held steady at 3.6/5. The minimal difference between initial and tuned conditions suggests the out-of-box configuration is already near this device's optimal performance for our test protocol.
